Nexus Gallery social media update

Thank you to all members who have followed, shared and engaged with the new Nexus social media accounts! The accounts are fairly young and small but are steadily growing and reaching more viewers each day. The new Nexus Community Gallery Instagram account has had over 3,700 views in the past month, and the new facebook page has over 2,000 views.

Why does Nexus Community Gallery have new social media accounts?

The old facebook page and instagram account were set up by people no longer involved in the gallery. The committee does not have passwords or administration access to the old accounts, meaning no-one currently involved with Nexus Gallery can operate or change the old accounts. A new facebook page and instagram account were created to allow the gallery to be able to share posts on social media once again.

Where to find the new accounts:

Benefits of social media:

Having these accounts helps the gallery reach local people and tourists, promote the work of local artists, and grow visitor numbers. These platforms offer free ways to connect with art collectors and fans and share news about exhibitions etc.

Thank you, and feel free to contact [email protected] if you would like to contribute to the gallery's social media presence.

Dubravka Sabljak - Encountering The Self

After months of clay, colour, creativity, exploding kilns, broken pieces, unexpected surprises and a whole lot of imagination, I’m excited to share my upcoming solo exhibition, “Encountering The Self”.

This collection is a journey through the many characters, emotions and ideas that emerge through art and life. Some pieces arrived exactly as planned. Most had other ideas.

Loud, messy, curious, strange and beautifully imperfect, this exhibition is a celebration of individuality and embracing the things that make us uniquely ourselves.

Painting with Papers represents my journey from textiles to paper and now to canvas. It combines my love of colour and texture, the bedrock of all my work.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR ARTISTS EXHIBITING AT NEXUS

PRICING:

Keep your pricing realistic. Nexus is a small regional gallery not a city gallery. We have seen artists miss out on sales because of overpricing.

As artists we would all like to get the maximum return for our works but this happens rarely.

Sometimes being prepared to accept a little less profit is better in the long run as sold works act as ongoing advertising for you, being seen by people in the buyer's world, rather than collecting dust in your studio.

PROFESSIONALISM

Ensure your works are clean, free of dust and fingerprints, no mould spots, and no chips or marks on the frames. Have pride in what you are presenting for sale. D-rings and cord on works to be hung must be done as per the Conditions of Entry on Member Show entry forms.

RESPECT:

Always READ AND FOLLOW all instructions given to you by the Nexus Team. Whether an entry form, contract, preparation checklist, newsletter write up, or requests in email, please do what is asked of you.

It is exhausting when members do not follow instructions or even take the time to read information they have been given.

We are a small volunteer team who give continuously of our time and energy to keep the gallery running for you, all our members and the community. We host 20 exhibitions each year at Nexus - please do not make our jobs any harder!

THANK YOU FROM THE NEXUS TEAM
