| | | TECH ED SERIES EVENT 2: Raising Independent Kids in a Distracted World |
| | | What Screens Can't Teach: Raising Independent Kids in a Distracted World Featuring Mike McLeod, GrowNOW Tuesday, February 2, 2027 | 7 PM Park Jr. High Auditorium Kids today are growing up with a device in reach nearly every waking minute — changing how they focus, handle frustration and connect with the people around them. But the answer isn’t just less screen time. It’s building the skills screens can’t. ADHD and executive-function expert Mike McLeod of GrowNOW will break down what’s really happening when kids can’t put the phone down, how parents can set limits that stick without a daily fight, and how to strengthen the internal skills kids need to become more independent: self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation and self-evaluation. Parents will leave with practical strategies to help their kids look up, tune in and build the independence no device can give them. Learn more about Michael on our website or follow him on Instagram. |
