Vienna Comix is next weekend!
Always a fun event, with lots of independent artists, tons of classic comic books and figurines, and a whole army of cosplayers and fursuits. Come watch Ulrich Schröder and Xi Ding draw at the speed of light! I'm personally excited to meet Massimo Fecchi, too. My table will probably be near to his, if you want to find me. I'll have some of new stickers, pins and patches with me, and of course I hope to make a bunch of drawings for people. Whether you're buying something or not, please come say hi if you're there!
You can read the program booklet here. Tickets cost 15 euros, kids can enter for free. 30 and 31st of May at Marx Halle Wien viennacomix.at |

Things have been busy after the pin crowdfunding campaign that ran earlier this year. Currently, over 3000 pins are being manufactured, followed by another 2000 pins for which the artwork still needs to be approved. When everything is done, there will be over 50 designs! |

Making pins is a pretty lengthy process, both on my part as well as in the factory. After all, they're enamel pins and every colored area needs to be filled in by hand before they get fired in the kiln. I'll share more about the process in a future update! |

So many pantone colors, yet never enough pantone colors. |

Until all my pins are in and being shipped, the pre-order shop will remain open. This shop is aimed at people who did not back the campaign, but would like to buy any of the pins, stickers or patches. This will be the only time in the foreseeable future that I can ship items other than stickers and small prints outside of the EU. Shipping will be charged later, alongside all the campaign backers' orders. |

The new patches already arrived! |

The Woezel & Pip theme park De Tovertuin has opened, and it seems to be a big success so far! We got to visit on its first test day a few weeks ago. It came out looking lovely and, of course, very cute. It's a small park, aimed at young kids. It features themed areas including an indoor trackless darkride, and a small outdoor boat ride that circles around an island with a two stories tall Tante Perenboom (Auntie Peartree) in the center. |

A work in progress photo of one of the clay sculptures I made in 2024, that were used as a rough reference for the life-sized figures in the park. |

Since development started shortly after I left the small Woezel & Pip studio and moved to Vienna, I only got to do a very small amount of work for it on a freelance basis. But after working with these characters and people daily for 7+ years, it's wonderful to see our ideas and drawings finally come to life! I spotted some small things I designed over the years that made it directly into the park, like the little shelf next to Tante Perenboom and some background characters. Also, a hand written font that I made a few years ago can be found all over the park and website. It's funny to see 'my handwriting' on everything! |
