It took longer than expected, but the wait only made us more excited to finally share 'Doux', the new Quogne EP, alongside a remixed edition of their 2020 EP 'Quorbeaux', and a cassette compiling both releases. Quogne begins with Chanoine performing on vintage machines, while S. Lamoth reshapes, edits and programs the material into new forms. While synthwave often leans on human imagination and retro-futurist nostalgia, this project draws instead from a present-tense, inspired by the experiences and dreams of non-human forms of life. It evokes playful motion, endurance through harsh climates, anxious concealment, and gradual metamorphosis. Soft and abrasive textures are lit by sun and moon, casting shifting shadows and ever-changing silhouettes.

Quogne’s members have been collaborating on music projects for decades. As the duo Sévère (S/V\R), they released a series of tapes rooted in synth-driven austerity. Playfulness and distortion were the law, and beneath the noise, rhythm remained the essence.

Over the years, many of you have asked about our lyrics and expressed interest in seeing them brought together in one place. To celebrate our 20th anniversary, we thought… Why not make that happen? We're planning a limited-edition book featuring all our lyrics, along with a selection of photos and visuals. Since it will be a limited print run, we'd love to get a sense of how many of you would be interested in purchasing a copy before we decide on the quantity. We also plan to celebrate by sharing a selection of our songs throughout the year, and some specially created videos, on our Union Finale YouTube channel, beginning with a piece that never appeared on any of our albums. The very first song we ever wrote as Menace Ruine.

Twenty years of it means a few lives, a few cycles, and one long hiatus. Some of you have been with us from the very beginning; others found us along the way. To welcome everyone into the full journey, we'll be guiding you through our music ourselves.
