TONIGHT: JONATHAN HAIDT & LENORE SKENAZY ON THE FUTURE OF CHILDHOOD |
|
This one is right up our alley at Hold the Phone—and definitely worth tuning in for. Tonight at 6:00 PM Central, Jonathan Haidt, author of The Anxious Generation, and Lenore Skenazy, founder of Free-Range Kids, will come together for a free conversation about the future of childhood.
They'll explore a question at the heart of so much of what we talk about at HTP: What do kids actually need in order to thrive?
The conversation will look at why giving kids more independence, more real-world play, more responsibility, and more opportunities to navigate life on their own may be an important part of raising confident, capable, resilient kids.
If you've been thinking about how to give your kids more freedom, encourage independence, or create a childhood with a little more real-world experience and a little less screen time, we think this conversation will be especially relevant.
📅 TONIGHT — Tuesday, August 18 ⏰ 6:00 PM Central 💻 Free online webinar

HELP US BRING HTP TO LIFE AT YOUR SCHOOL |
|
Hold the Phone is growing, and we need parents from every District 102 school to help us make this year's programming happen!
We're looking for volunteers from Ogden, Cossitt, Forest Road and Congress Park who believe in what we're doing and want to help bring HTP to life in their school communities.
There are lots of ways to get involved. We need people who can: Help plan and execute events for kids and parents Spread the word about HTP programs and resources within your school Connect us with other families and help build participation Be an HTP cheerleader—helping us generate excitement around healthier tech habits, more independence and more real-world connection for our kids
You don't need to take on a huge role or make a major time commitment. Whether you have a little time or a lot, we'd love to have you. The more parents we have involved at each school, the more we can do across our district. |
