Continuing the Community Conversation on the Status of Women and Girls in Horry County

Earlier this year VOICE hosted Women's Rights & Empowerment Network (WREN) for a community conversation highlighting key issues facing women and girls in Horry County based on 2025 research.  The conversation covered issues such as maternal health, economics, housing, and education.

The participants found the data informative and offered suggestions for further review.   Based on the demographics of Horry County, the group felt that adding a section on elder care issues would be valuable as well as some other breakdowns within the current sections such as the difference between maternal morality between mothers that have care verses those that do not.

To continue the conversation and determine future actions, Aisha Jones, Senior Partnership & Engagement Associate with WREN will be returning to Horry County this fall.  To make the conversation available to as many as possible, VOICE is conducting a survey to determine the best day and time to schedule this event.  We hope you will participate.

For those interested in more details the full statewide report, including county-by-county data, is available at www.scwren.org/status-of-women-and-girls-in-sc/.

Please take a minute to complete this short survey rating your likelihood of attending for each day of the week and time of day:

It only takes a minute, and your input will help us choose a time that gets the best turnout.
