While at Hackaday Europe in Lecco, Italy, two Robot Butterflies explored around Monte Resegone!

Hackaday Europe 2026 brought together electronics and robotics enthusiasts. It was awesome to meet new friends and say hello to familiar faces! Erin presented Outdoors with Robots, celebrating 10 years of bringing robots outdoors. We'll share more about the entire experience in a later newsletter!

Creative Connections Lab

Exciting news! As a part of the Creative Connections Lab at the Tett Centre, there will be a Robot Butterfly workshop!

If you have ever wanted to get started with building a nature-inspired robot, or even learn more about new media art that uses electronics, this is a great workshop for you.

Thursday June 4 | 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Spots are going quick -- it's for 8 participants to make it a cozy group. Plus you'll learn to solder as well!

By the way, it's entirely FREE! Thank you very much to the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning team for this fantastic Creative Connections Lab program!

Be sure to check out the other workshops in the series and read more about the program here.

If you know anyone in Kingston, Ontario who would be interested, feel free to send it their way!

Ok, just a mini update for now! Gotta recharge some batteries. More later in a future edition of the field robot chronicles!

Enjoy the spring bloom,
