| | Walkability Survey As a part of the Kandivali East Walkability Team, we took the activities ahead by rolling out the survey form to the community and gathered 40 responses and counting. An evening walk audit is also scheduled in the coming days to assess on-ground conditions and gather further insights to inform our recommendations for the neighborhood.

Local Walkability Teams We initiated the Local Walkability Teams - community-led groups of residents, volunteers, and local stakeholders working together to identify pedestrian issues, conduct walkability audits, engage with citizens, and work towards safer, more accessible, and inclusive streets within their neighbourhoods. These teams act as a bridge between the community and local authorities, helping drive long-term improvements in the walking environment. This distributed model will allow multiple neighbourhoods to work simultaneously, strengthen community capacity and create a scalable network of local champions driving change at the grassroots level

Friday Public Transport Day Activities as a part of the BKC Moves Coalition As a part of BKC Moves, we conducted community engagement every Friday at various locations by engaging people and understanding their communte parrterns, challenges and suggestions of improvement. We conducted these activities multiple times on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th & 31st of July.

Final Project Review | Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay We evaluated the final projects worked upon by the students of Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay on technological solutions on walkability problems. They worked on two problem statements: 1. Junction analysis to conduct pedestrian and vehicle counts through video analysis and 2. Virtual Reality of the experience of an existing and improved street.

Community Talk at Blue Ribbon Movement We conducted our Community Talk in partnership with Blue Ribbon Movement talking about advocacy efforts by Walking Project, the journey, challenges and efforts in working towards walkability improvements in the city.

Update on SV Road Improvement Project |
|
As part of the ongoing S.V. Road Improvement Project, and following our meeting with the Road Department engineers in June, we submitted a detailed set of street design recommendations to the Road Department and the Assistant Municipal Commissioner. The report outlined key design considerations to be incorporated into the ongoing works, including footpath surface material, footpath height, carriageway consistency, accessibility, and other pedestrian infrastructure elements in line with the existing guidelines.
We aim to continue engaging with the authorities throughout the execution process. |

Capacity Building Session for Mudito Orgnization |

We conducted a capacity-building session for the Mudito team to familiarize them with the community walk process and the key aspects to observe during a walk. The session covered parameters such as footpath continuity and width, surface quality, accessibility, pedestrian safety, and the overall walking experience. The team also gained an understanding of walk audits documentation, and identifying on-ground challenges and inform recommendations for improving walkability. |

As part of the Community Engagement Program (CEP) at Fr. Conceicao Rodrigues College of Engineering, we will be collaborating with students through a learning programme focused on walkability. The course will introduce students to walkability audits, pedestrian-friendly street design, and community engagement, enabling them to assess on-ground conditions, identify key challenges, and develop practical recommendations for creating safer, more accessible, and inclusive streets. |
